Additional Processing — G.TOSI Yarn Dyeing

Complementary transformations to dyeing

Excellent yarn finishing often requires additional processing, carried out both before and after the dyeing operations. Thanks to our qualified subcontractors, G.TOSI is able to offer a complete range of additional transformations that complete the yarn dyeing production cycle.

Available processes

Gassing

Burning off protruding fibres from the yarn to make it smoother and more uniform before dyeing. Improves colour absorption and levelness.

Reeling

Transforming yarn from cones to hanks using a reel, a preliminary step required for hank dyeing and mercerization.

Unwinding

Rewinding yarn from dyed hanks onto cones or bobbins, to make it usable for subsequent processing.

Cone winding

Winding dyed yarn onto cones with multi-head cone winding machines, with yarn clearing and splicer knotting to deliver a ready-to-use product.

Waxing cone winding

Application of wax during cone winding to give the yarn the correct smoothness for flat and circular knitting.

Yarn conditioning

Restoring the optimal moisture content of yarn after drying, to guarantee standard characteristics before delivery.

Integration with the dyeing cycle

These additional processes integrate perfectly with the G.TOSI dyeing cycle, making it possible to manage the entire yarn finishing process — from preparation to delivery — with a single point of contact. Our subcontractors are selected according to the same quality standards we apply internally, ensuring consistency and reliability throughout the supply chain.
