Reeling
Reeling
An operation that transforms yarn wound on cones or bobbins into hanks by means of the reel, a device that winds the thread in crossed coils around a support. Reeling is a preliminary stage required especially for hank dyeing and for yarn mercerization. The hanks obtained are then tied with inert material to keep their shape during the subsequent dyeing stages.
