Hand feel / Handle

The tactile sensation perceived when touching the dyed and finished yarn, which includes softness, smoothness, stiffness, bulkiness and other sensory characteristics. The hand feel of the yarn is influenced by dyeing and finishing treatments (softeners, oils, wax) and must match the specifications required by the customer. It is a subjective qualitative parameter but crucial for the evaluation of yarn intended for knitwear.
